Editing notes

FILM
  • Made argument fade into fire by fading volume into fire. This makes the audience feel like the argument drags on without it psycially dragging on.

  • To achieve an ideal pace in film I researched a short film entitled the division of gravity. This film included short shots of wall which were repetated with long shots of arguments, this meant the film flowed better and helped represent the characters emotions perfectly. This then inspired me to constantly make my long shots and short shots juxtaposed against each other.

  • When editing my frame of the photo being burnt revealing the boys face behind this I kept the image of chin as this makes audience curious. Also we see the character blink before the flame is extinguished this enforces the authenticity of the character and shows that the boy is really behind the photo and not just a further image.

POSTER

  • I replaced image of Cannes festival logo with a Sundance logo as Sundance is more art house than cannes

  • For my text I opened up the letter spaces to 25 this made the words clearer.

  • When I showed my poster to my focus group they said that they believed that the protagonist seemed to look like she was smiling which was not my desired effect. To fix this I used the smudge tool to lower the raised corner of her mouth that made her look like she was smiling
